## Rolling Stones 1978 US Tour {{< GalleryComponent id="1978-rolling-stones-tour" >}} Showco provided the sound and lighting for the 1978 Rolling Stones US tour. Bill Graham promoted the tour that took place in June and July immediately following the release of the group’s 1978 album Some Girls. The tour used a stripped back, minimal stage show compared to previous tours and played many smaller venues. Jack Maxson was the sound engineer/mixer for the tour.

### David Bowie The Low/Heroes 1978 World Tour {{< GalleryComponent id="27-david-bowie-1978" >}} Showco provided the sound, lighting and stage set for David Bowie’s The Low/Heroes 1978 world tour named after Bowie’s two previous albums. Buford Jones was the FOH mixer, Townsend Wessinger was the sound crew chief, sound technicians were Billy King, Russell Davis, Randy Marshall and Glenn George. Lighting crew chief was Lonnie McKenzie, the lighting technicians were Warren Cunningham, Dirk Arnold, Rick Hunnicuut, John Mitchell, Juan Gonzales, Kevin Di Piazza and Richard Brown, Showco rigging crew was Kevin Randall, J. Smith, Lyle Centola and Morris Lyda was Production Consultant/Advance Manager.

### Genesis Tour 1978 In 1978 Showco provided the sound and lighting system for the Genesis “And Then there Were Three…” 1978 world tour - which featured the band as a trio without Peter Gabriel - with Phil Collins on vocals and drums, Tony Banks on keyboards, and Mike Rutherford on bass and guitar. Alan Owen was the lighting designer and Craig Schertz was the sound engineer/mixer. The lighting rig featured large special motorized mirrored panels, built by a company in Holland, that moved on X-Y gimbals and were used the direct the beams from follow spots located on the stage back onto the band members.
